In the life of Sungoddess

When you start to live with someone, you really start to see their true colors. So, I have this roommate, well I have these two roommates who are complete slobs. I mean, it's really insane. They leave their clothes, homework, bikes, etc in the living room like they own the place. They leave their food on the sink and in the store for days, until I become completely disgusted and write an angry note on the bulletin board telling them to clean up.

So, I thought ehh...Sungoddess, this really can't get much worse. Actually it could. So I have this allergy. I'm allergy to both cats and dogs and well all of seafood but that isn't important for the discussion of this story. So, I'm allergic to both cats and dogs. They make me sneeze to the point of exhaustion. My eyes become filled with pools of water and my throat becomes as dry as the Mohavi desert. It's horrible. So guess what happens? My roommate decides to get two cats. This wasn't an issue at first because she kept them at her boyfriends house most of the time. But then because well, she is cheap and lazy at the same time...she failed to get them spade. It wasn't an issue at first because they were kittens and they didnt know how to "play" in that manner yet. But in due time like all living beings, they grew and the female kitten became pregnant by the male kitten.

So, in order to "halt" this from happening again, my roommate thinks of a bright idea. "Why don't I just keep one cat and my place and the other at my boyfriends?" she thinks to herself. Um..bad idea. So, that cat is now over at our apartment basically owning the place. It's free to roam around, eat when it wants, sleep when it wants and never fails to want attention. Unfortunately, I started to develop real bad allergy which continued for weeks, which turned into months...yeah you get the picture. So at the expense of being cheap and being lazy my health is at risk.

It's now May and I'm completely feed up. Throughout most of this time I've been a nice, well mannered roommate. But everyone can only take some much. The nicest flower when treated poorly reveals its nasty thorns. And thus communication between my roommate and I has stopped. But at the end of the day, I can sigh in relief knowing that she will be moving soon but at the same time feeling horrible for the future roommates to come. But hey, if you were in my shoes...what would you have done?

Sungoddess5, I totally know what you are going through. I sometimes ask myself if there are anymore considerate people left in the world. I know what it is like to suffer with allergies. I have had them since I was a child. They are absolutely horrible...neither of my siblings have them. Life is so unfair at times. I know what it is like to have someone ignore your needs so much. At work I bust my butt, day in and day out, and for what? I do exactly what is expected of me and my manager doesn't even notice. So, finally I realized that I need to do the opposite. I should be a horrible employee, rather than a good one. This is what you should do. Resume conversation with your roommate and find out what bothers her. Than spend the rest of the time that you guys share together driving her nuts. Do exactly what she doesn't like and then when she confronts you, act oblivious. Oh yeah, and don't apologize for you actions, she deserves it with everything that she has put you through.
